Enhanced CRB / DBS Checks

Every parent who hires a nanny wants to feel sure that the nanny has been properly checked. An Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is an important part of this. It helps to make sure that unsuitable people do not work with vulnerable children. All the nannies with Mindful Trust have a current, valid Enhanced DBS check.

What is a DBS Check?

In 2012, two agencies, the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA), came together to form the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). A DBS check looks at both spent and unspent criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings. It also checks any extra information that the police believe is important for anyone working with children.
