At Mindful Trust Care Agency, our live-out nannies, including our specialist nannies, take full responsibility for all nursery duties. These typically include laundry, cleaning, and cooking, but generally only for the children in their care.
Responsibilities of a Live-Out Nanny
Your live-out nanny will be responsible for:
- Sole Charge of the Children: Providing complete care and supervision.
- Activities and Development: Planning and delivering engaging activities to support your children’s physical, emotional, and intellectual development.
- Communication with Parents: Liaising with parents on all aspects of the children’s care to ensure their needs are fully met.
- Meal Preparation: Preparing nutritious and wholesome meals tailored to the dietary requirements of each child.
- Housekeeping for the Children: Maintaining cleanliness in areas such as the nursery, bedroom, and play areas, as agreed with parents.
- Child-Related Laundry and Repairs: Washing and mending the children’s clothes and toys.
- Equipment Maintenance: Keeping any household equipment related to childcare, such as car seats, clean and in good working order.
- Travel Support: Preparing and accompanying the children on family holidays or other trips, ensuring they are cared for throughout.
- School Runs and Excursions: Escorting the children to school, nursery, or playgroups and accompanying them on age-appropriate outings.
- Health and Medication: Administering medication and providing care when the children are unwell.
Any additional responsibilities can be discussed and agreed upon in the nanny contract. However, Mindful Trust Care Agency nannies are not expected to complete non-child-related housekeeping duties unless explicitly negotiated in advance.
Salary Rates | Live-out Nanny
We represent nannies with at least three years’ professional childcare experience, all over 21 years of age, with a valid DBS Check. Live-out nannies typically charge £16–£20 per hour, depending on experience and hours required. Nannies can travel with your family or provide temporary live-in cover. Overtime or 24-hour rates can be agreed in advance.
